At RMS, every day, the Prep-ONE students have language studies. Throughout the week they learn reading and writing, oral communication and media literacy. Our Prep-ONE students can be seen reading short sentences in their Phonics books. Our teachers focus on the importance of learning to read whole words, as well as identifying individual letters. Each week, the students have the opportunity to sit in the “Author’s Chair” where they read aloud their practiced book to their classmates. The children beam with pride as they share their accomplishments with the rest of their class.
