At RMS we believe in multiculturalism and integrating all of our ethnicities and cultures into our daily lives. Our students engage in multicultural activities and events which help the children to develop an understanding of other cultures. We encourage our children to have a positive self-regard for one’s own culture and in turn they build a positive attitude towards the cultures of others. We provide multiple opportunities for our students to explore the similarities and differences as this helps them develop an understanding and appreciation for all. Over the past few weeks, our Downtown Campus Prep-One to Grade 2 students have been busy learning about the African culture, primarily an African dance. This year students had the pleasure once again to showcase their performance at the Brampton Library.
At all of our campuses we strive to teach acceptance and tolerance for all cultures, and participating in community events is one way that we can do just that. The Cultural Days Festival is an event that we have participated in for multiple years, as it gives our students an opportunity to learn and prepare a choreographed song and dance and perform for their families and other families in the community. Our students believe strongly in the need to celebrate culture and we will continue to encourage them to do so moving forward. We look forward to seeing you and sharing with you the private school community of which we are so proud!
