Our annual Jump Rope for Heart event was yet another success! With a month of fundraising and a day filled with lots of jumping rope and shooting hoops, RMS raised a grand total of $5,437.00! Way to go! As a way to encourage our students to maintain a healthy active lifestyle, the students from Prep-ONE to grade 4 took part in our Jump Rope for Heart activity stations, and our grade 5 to 8 students took part in our Hoops for Heart activity stations.
In conjunction with our school’s healthy eating and active living health unit, we had some fantastic nurses visit the school to complete a healthy hearts workshop with our students. This workshop not only helped our students understand the importance of a healthy heart but allowed them to apply their learning during a fantastic event such as our Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. The whole event day was a great opportunity for our students to get involved and learn the importance of how healthy active living can do wonders for our hearts, and the hearts of others! All participating students have taken a step to help protect hearts, and keep all kids healthy by partaking in the Heart & Stroke Foundation fundraising program.
