Students applying their Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) skills.
We are excited to let you know of an upcoming event at the RMS Academy that will provide an opportunity to witness the momentum of this year’s Robotics Club enthusiasm, and showcase some of our great accomplishments in the field of Robotics. On Tuesday June 9th, 2015 (6:00pm) at the RMS Academy Campus, we invite you to join us and see our students demonstrate what they have learned about creating robots. It is always a joy to see young minds at work. As you can imagine, this will be an energetic event full of enthusiasm.
The event will feature a number of stations where our “future scientists” will present various elements of creating a robot, each station designed with the goal of achieving a specific task. Current parents and guests will have the opportunity to circulate amongst the stations to see the following:
-Programming of the robots with loops and switches: Making the robot make decisions
-Downloading of the code onto the robots
-How sensors (ultrasonic, light, colour) are used to make robots interact with their surroundings
-Demonstrations of various robot manoeuvres within its environment
-FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge Demonstrations
-Friendly in-house robotic competition
Although robots are fun to watch, seeing the kids’ excitement is even more exhilarating! Mark this special event in your personal calendar and know that you, your family members, and friends are welcome to attend this event as the students are excited to show off their skills!
