Getting students involved in tasks they find interesting leads them to increase their confidence and improves the learning process. Grade 2 students at Central Park Campus have been working on a special Cross-Curricular project where they have been learning about the importance of healthy eating habits called- Pour une bonne santé! Followed by some collaborative class research on learning how to eat whole, colourful and healthy foods, the students then worked on a Food Pyramid, using 2D and 3D designs. Using vocabulary that was previously taught in a French Language class, students were able to label keywords in French. Words included some components from the different food groups, including various fruit and vegetable names. This was an excellent opportunity to work on some Grade 2 Health Curriculum, along with Visual Arts and French. Students enjoyed this fun activity and had an opportunity to collaborate with classmates. Bravo les enfants!
