Little Van Gogh’s Hard at Work!
Learning is more effective when the students are having fun!!
Some of our Senior Kindergarten students recently learned about the Post-Impressionist artist, Vincent Van Gogh. Van Gogh was born in the Netherlands in 1883. Some of his famous paintings include The Starry Night, Sunflowers and Cafe Terrace at Night.
Students worked in a group and created their own masterpiece by mixing together various colours to see what different colour combinations they could develop, using some water-based paints.
This is another great project that younger and older children can work on at home. All you need are some colourful water-based or acrylic paints, some construction paper or a canvas and a paintbrush or two. It’s easy to tie a bit of a history lesson into this art lesson by talking about some Post-Impressionist artists like Van Gogh and Rembrandt. Have fun!
