Congrats to all of our incredible students on advancing to the next round of the ISP Chess tournament! Always impressed (but never surprised) by the talented individuals at our school.
On Thursday, May 13th, the RMS Chess Team participated in the ISP Chess Tournament Semi-Finals with over 260 participants from the USA, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia and Spain. RMS’ Junior Chess Team finished in third place to advance to the ISP Chess Finals, taking place on Thursday, June 3rd, 2021. The top eight players on the RMS Junior Team have advanced to the finals.
A big congratulations goes out to RMS’ grade 3 Academy student, Ryan P., who came in second in the overall standing within the junior division.
On Thursday 3rd June 2021, Rowntree’s Junior Chess team will play in the ISP Chess Tournament final against the top-3 teams from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
While the RMS Senior Chess Team did not advance to the final, we are proud to announce that Dylan P., from grade 7, came in second in the overall standing within the Senior division.
This Wednesday, May 19th, all RMS students who took part in the ISP Chess Tournament Semi-Finals will have the opportunity to attend a one-hour long live session delivered by a Grandmaster. What an amazing experience for our Chess Teams!
