This Friday, October, 23rd, 2020, let’s THINK PINK for Dress for the Cause at RMS. This is a very special day for students where they have an opportunity to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Research in Canada. Students who make a small donation of $2.00 can “dress down” and wear pink to commemorate this special cause. Let’s make this year’s Dress for the Cause bigger and better than ever!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The month of October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month. RMS wants our students to understand the importance of helping those in need. Did you know that breast cancer affects one in eight women?
With more people working from home and students learning online, RMS has created some fun new ways to help students get involved in this important cause. We have made it easier to fundraise and support research for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of breast cancer.
One way RMS is celebrating this very special month is by encouraging our students, teachers and staff to participate in Pink Dress Down Day on Friday, October 23rd, 2020. We are asking our students, teachers and staff to wear as much pink as possible. LET’S THINK BIG! Anything goes on Dress for the Cause day- pink socks, shirts, pants, shoes, sunglasses, boas, backpacks, tutus, hats, scarves, bracelets, necklaces, bandanas, capes, and the list goes on! Be creative and be imaginative. Let’s make this our biggest and best yet Dress for the Cause Day.
Students are asked to make a minimum donation of $2.00 to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
To celebrate Dress for the Cause, students and teachers are encouraged to dress up everything they can think of, in PINK! Things like bedroom or house doors, their desks, pets, cars or toys! The list is endless! Please be sure to share your pictures with us on our social media channels.
We hope that you and your children will help RMS join the fight against one of the common types of cancer in women. While wearing pink in solidarity is a symbolic gesture that doesn’t go unnoticed, consider taking a more active stance this month.
