Rowntree Montessori Academy has been an active participant in the region’s Model United Nations (MUN) conferences for a number of years. Over the course of this school year, our students attended three MUN conferences – L’Amoreaux Collegiate Institute in November, King’s Christian Collegiate in February, and most recently Appleby College in April. Our students, many for the first time, stepped up in front of a group of their peers to voice the positions of their assigned country on a variety of topics.
As the year end approaches, the Model United Nations club members would like to demonstrate their debating, critical thinking, teamwork and leadership skills in a showcase MUN committee session. We will be hosting a showcase for families and guests during our school Open House on Thursday May 21, 2015, at 6:15 p.m at the Academy Campus. All are warmly invited to experience what goes on during a MUN committee session as students debate a current hot topic. Please RSVP by calling 905-790-3838.
