Rowntree Montessori Schools (RMS) is very pleased to introduce a newly focused Kindergarten Montessori programme for 3 and 4 year olds and a unique Prep-ONE full-time programme for 5 year olds, both to be launched this September for the 2015-16 school year. Grounded in strong academic-based programming and delivered in a 21st century learning environment, these programmes will prepare RMS students for Grade 1 and beyond.
The Rowntree Montessori Schools Kindergarten Montessori programme balances child-centered and teacher directed learning with high academic and social challenges for children who are turning four years of age. The program includes structured learning, complemented with Montessori activities and ensures a strong foundation in the areas of Arithmetic, Reading, Writing and Problem Solving. Promoting critical thinking and self-management skills, RMS’ Kindergarten Montessori allows children to experience the joy of learning in an academic environment.
Designed as an extension of its Kindergarten Montessori programme, RMS’ new Prep-ONE Programme for 5 year olds will take full advantage of the hands-on foundational learning that comes with a Montessori introduction to school, while offering the best of 21st century learning practices. This innovative full day programme will have its own independent timetable, focus and attention. The Prep-ONE programme has been designed specifically to prepare students to successfully transition from Kindergarten Montessori to Grade 1, with particular benefit for students who plan on attending Grade 1 and up at Rowntree Montessori Schools. As such, beginning in September 2015, our current pre-primary campuses will operate as Preparatory campuses.
Furthermore, to encourage and provide its younger students with the opportunity to continue to develop and reach their full potential in a familiar environment, RMS is also introducing Grade level programmes at its Primary/Preparatory campuses, starting with Grade 1 in September 2015, adding Grade 2 in September 2016 and then Grade 3 in September 2017. Starting in September 2018, complimentary bussing will then be offered from the Primary/Preparatory campuses to the Academy campus for Grades 4 and up for students entering Grade 4 from an RMS Primary/Preparatory campus Grade 3 programme.
As an incentive to register for our new Grade level programmes at our Primary/Preparatory campuses, RMS is offering a two-year registration package for parents who register a student by September 2015 for both the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 academic years at the same time, thus locking in the tuition rate for two years. This offer applies for a student’s registration to either of the following two scenarios at a Primary/Preparatory campus: 1) Prep-ONE programme in 2015-2016 followed by Grade 1 in 2016-2017 or 2) Grade 1 in 2015-2016 followed by Grade 2 in 2016-2017.
