Mrs. Leeson has been with RMS since 2005. She started as a student-teacher and then progressed to full-time in 2009 as a Kindergarten teacher at our Central Park campus. In her time at RMS, she has taught with distinction all the levels of Kindergarten Montessori (JK) thru Grade 3. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Family Studies from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Education from York University, as well as being OCT certified. She has taught at both the Central Park and Downtown campuses, and has been involved in many of the administrative responsibilities including re-writing the JK and SK curriculum for all RMS schools.
Mrs. Leeson is a strong believer in giving children the tools to excel from a young age. With her experience working with Montessori materials, she understands the value of learning through both hands-on materials, preparing for real life situations using practical life learning tools and the value of structured learning through teacher guided instruction, whether workbooks, worksheets or interactive white board examples. Her belief is that children learn best when they are given positive reinforcement and praise, and works to make sure each child is confident and comfortable in their classroom environment, from the first day they step foot in the campus. Mrs. Leeson is thankful to be in a position where she can help shape young minds and unite teachers together towards a common goal of making the best possible school experience for every child.
