Mr. Jonathan Harris, B.A., M.A., B.Ed., Director of Education and Academy Principal, completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto, his Master of Arts from Queen’s University, and he received his Bachelor of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.
Prior to joining Rowntree, Mr. Harris served for over 14 years in senior leadership roles at Fieldstone Day School and at the Leo Baeck Day School, both in Toronto. He brings to Rowntree diverse experiences in Kindergarten through Grade Twelve education, and he has worked with challenging and unique curricula, including Core Knowledge, the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Cambridge International. Beyond the academic responsibilities that have been central to his roles, Mr. Harris has also been extensively involved in the co-curricular aspects of his students’ school experience, including the arts, athletics, charitable fundraising and volunteer trips. Mr. Harris is committed to a hands-on approach to school leadership, and his school community focus brings him into daily contact with, and makes him accountable and accessible to all Rowntree stakeholders.
His open door policy includes an invitation to all parents, staff, and students to engage in dialogue and take an active part in shaping the ongoing success and excellence of the Rowntree Montessori Schools!
